Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Lived briefly in Nags Head, North Carolina. Completed an Associate Degree in Business Administration specifically in Marketing and Management at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), Aguadilla Campus. Completed a bachelor’s degree in English (Linguistics) at the UPR, Mayaguez Campus. Completed a master’s degree in Arts in English Education (MAEE) at the UPR, Mayaguez Campus as well. Certified Middle and High School English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher by the Puerto Rico’s Department of Education (PRDE).  I have been teaching in the PRDE for the past 12 years, specifically in Aguada, Puerto Rico. Taught at the University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus for 7 years ad at the Mayaguez Campus for two years. Currently writing my PhD Dissertation as part of the requirements for the Doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction in TESL at the UPR, Rio Piedras Campus. Had my students participating in Spelling Bee, Drawing, Writing, among others, contests and projects connected to the English class. As well, had had my students representing, competing, and winning in the Regional Puerto Rico Poetry Out Loud Competition.  Motivation and giving students a voic, are for me, important key factors when teaching a second language.
