Mitch holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University and is the Director of Bands at Bulkeley High School in Hartford, CT. Mitch started playing the trombone in elementary school and has been very active as a tenor and bass trombonist since. He has studied under George Sanders, Andrew Rodgers and Luis Fernando Jimenez over the years. Mitch also teaches private trombone, euphonium and tuba lessons through Summit Studios in Manchester, CT. Additionally, Mitch has always enjoyed playing with a variety of musical ensembles. In college, he regularly performed with the school’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, Trombone Choir and also subbed in the Berkshire Big Band and the Sonny Carroll Orchestra for a few years. He has also formally been a member of the South Windsor Community Band, Manchester Symphony Orchestra, Kat’s ‘N’ Jammer’s Big Band, Charter Oak Brass Band, Al Fenton Big Band and Thomaston Jazz Orchestra. Mitch is currently the 2nd/Bass Trombonist in the Red Satin Band, Bass Trombonist in the Black Rock Brass Quintet and Trombonist in Still Kickin’ with the Big City Horns. Mitch is also an active sub in local bands and is frequently hired to perform in pit orchestras for various musicals as well as trombone choirs.
